Mainland offers delightful villages dotted through farmland with spectacular cliff scenery along the Atlantic coastline sheltered sandy bays and unrivalled hill and moorland vistas. You can enjoy discovering the fascinating history - from the famous prehistoric village at Skara Brae through to the period of Norse and Viking rule the Renaissance architecture of the early 17th century. Orkney does not just offer historic interest why not jump on the ro-ro ferry to the islands of Rousay Egilsay and Wyre or enjoy cycling deep sea diving and pony trekking.
