Located on the south side of the River Esk overlooking the glorious Esk Valley and just a short drive to the historic sea port of Whitby, these holiday properties have been sympathetically built of locally sourced stone and designed to offer exceptional contemporary open-plan living that makes the most of their unique country location. From the large private balconies with built-in barbecues, breathtaking views of the valley can be taken in, along with sightings of the steam trains which run in it most days. The friendly owners provide everything needed for guests’ comfort, from a welcome hamper to complimentary toiletries.
Each of the four properties offer spacious open-plan living with underfloor heating, wood-burning stove, flatscreen TV with Sky, blue ray player and ipod docking station, all with ceiling surround sound and a library of dvds, cds and books for guests’ enjoyment.
This is an idyllic location from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coastline. With so much history, culture and heritage, visitors cannot help but fall in love with it. Further afield, visit the historic city of York with its minster, ancient walls and cobbled streets, less than an hour away. There are also the lovely towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering, where the steam train can be boarded.
Explore the National Park on foot or by bike with footpaths and tracks beginning at the doorstep, discovering quaint little villages with excellent pubs from gastro to the traditional country inn. Golf, horse riding and fishing are all available locally. Or maybe just sit back and relax beside the stove when the weather is inclement, pour out a chilled glass of wine and enjoy the stunning views.
