The Brackens is a quintessential Highland cottage that has been lovingly restored to create a truly charming country retreat in a  secluded yet easily accessible location. This traditional detached cottage is set in its own grounds and enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted views of the surrounding hills and valleys away into the distance. Situated just 1/2 mile away from the pretty stone village of Pittentrail, sometimes referred to by locals as Rogart and offers the very best of both worlds - total seclusion yet only 1/2 mile walk to the local pub and restaurant. The tiny hamlet of Rhemusaig where the cottage stands apparently means the place of the primroses and this is certainly very apt, as the hillsides surrounding the cottage are simply covered with them in Springtime. The owner is a professional orthinologist and the gardens and local area are a haven for birdwatchers; osprey, golden eagles, wood-peckers, hen harriers, red starts and even the very rare red poll are seen in the vicinity.
