Nestled on the hillside below Carningli (The Mount of Angels) this spacious, yet homely cottage offers a comfortable, peaceful retreat within walking distance of beaches and the many amenities Newport has to offer. Adjacent to the owners property and surrounded by 5 acres of their land, the back and side patios offer privacy, tranquillity and the perfect places to dine al fresco against a back-drop of natural beauty. Named after the natural springs that bubble through the owners land, Ffynnonwen (Holy/good water in Welsh) Bach stares out onto the ancient landscape that provided the enormous Preseli Blue Stones for the construction of Stonehenge. Those keen to amble amongst the trees, mossy boulders, flora and fauna of this ancient landscape will discover nearby Pentre Ifan, an ancient burial chamber of similar age and fascination. Gelli Fawr , just a few miles into the hills provides a welcoming refreshment stop, lunches and evening meals for those exploring the Preselis. While Newport itself offers a range of dining experiences from traditional Thai curries in The Royal Oak to fine-dining on locally sourced produce in Llys Meddyg (recently given a very favourable review in The Sunday Times).
