The picturesque town of Whitby and old fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay lie 20 miles up the coast whilst inland the great houses of Castle Howard Sledmere and Burton Agnes and Rievaulx Abbey are within easy reach as are Flamingo Land Theme Park Eden Camp and the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway with its scenic journey over the 'Heartbeat' moorlands.
